Reclaiming America: Patriots United

I have been accused of being somewhat of a recluse over the past couple of months -- "Guilty As Charged"! However, it's all been by design.

Since the beginning of the Tea Party movement earlier this year and especially since the DC trip, I've been struggling with one all-consuming fear. That the movement (to include ALL freedom-loving Patriotic groups) would become fractured as time went on as different agendas began to emerge. That fear has long since been realized. We now have more than 2000 different Patriot groups across the nation. Unfortunately, we also have more than 2000 differing agendas that are often at odds with one another. This is not good.

However, I was confident that others were struggling with the same fear and that someone(s), somewhere would develop something to address this challenge. In truth, efforts are already underway to unite some of these factions, especially within the "Tea Party" movement. But even if this effort to unite is "successful", I realized, as have all of you, that no effort will truly succeed that does not translate into votes at the ballot box. I understood that there needed to be some vehicle that would enable the conservative movement within these Patriot groups to be able to effectively lobby (I know--bad word) our legislators in Washington.

Let's face it! We've tried talking, protesting, sign-waving, writing, calling, faxing, and visiting with them -- all to no avail. We even sent 1.7 million of our best "Ambassadors of Freedom" to Washington, DC. Still, we are ignored. Why? Three basic reasons:
1. Simply because they've seen this sort of thing before (although never on this scale) and we've always forgotten about their misdeeds by the next election. We vote them right back into office. They are not convinced that this time is any different.
2. A politician responds best to money. They listen to whomever it is that is funding them. In essence, money trumps votes (or the threat of a non-vote). So, they listen to what we have to say, then listen to the lobbyists who fund them. If they value the lobbyist's donation more than they fear the electorate, they respond favorably to the lobbyist. This folks, is reality.
3. They don't see us as a unified group of millions of conservatives. Rather, they see 2000 fractured, bickering, unfocused groups jockeying for position and political influence.

I have spent the past couple of months attempting to find that vehicle and am confident that I've met with success.

In the string of amazing decisions made during the first year of the Obama administration, nothing seems more like sheer insanity than the decision to try foreign terrorists, who have committed acts of war against the United States, in federal court, as if they were American citizens accused of crimes.

Terrorists are not even entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention, much less the Constitution of the United States. Terrorists have never observed, nor even claimed to have observed, the Geneva Convention, nor are they among those covered by it.

But over and above the utter inconsistency of what is being done is the utter recklessness it represents. The last time an attack on the World Trade Center was treated as a matter of domestic criminal justice was after a bomb was exploded there in 1993. Under the rules of American criminal law, the prosecution had to turn over all sorts of information to the defense— information that told the Al Qaeda international terrorist network what we knew about them and how we knew it.

This was nothing more and nothing less than giving away military secrets to an enemy in wartime— something for which people have been executed, as they should have been. Secrecy in warfare is a matter of life and death. Lives were risked and lost during World War II to prevent Nazi Germany from discovering that Britain had broken its supposedly unbreakable Enigma code and could read their military plans that were being radioed in that code.

“Loose lips sink ships” was the World War II motto in the United States. But loose lips are mandated under the rules of criminal prosecutions.

Tragically, this administration seems hell-bent to avoid seeing acts of terrorism against the United States as acts of war. The very phrase “war on terrorism” is avoided, as if that will stop the terrorists’ war on us.

The mindset of the left behind such thinking was spelled out in an editorial in the San Francisco Chronicle, which said that “Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the professed mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, will be tried the right way— the American way, in a federal courtroom where the world will see both his guilt and the nation’s adherence to the rule of law.”

This is not the rule of law but the application of laws to situations for which they were not designed.

How many Americans may pay with their lives for the intelligence secrets and methods that can forced to be disclosed to Al Qaeda was not mentioned. Nor was there mention of how many foreign nations and individuals whose cooperation with us in the war on terror have been involved in countering Al Qaeda— nor how many foreign nations and individuals will have to think twice now, before cooperating with us again, when their role can be revealed in court to our enemies, who can exact revenge on them.

Behind this decision and others is the notion that we have to demonstrate our good faith to other nations, sometimes called “world opinion.” Just who are these saintly nations whose favor we must curry, at the risk of American lives and the national security of the United States?

Internationally, the law of the jungle ultimately prevails, despite pious talk about “the international community” and “world opinion,” or the pompous and corrupt farce of the United Nations. Yet this is the gallery to which Barack Obama has been playing, both before and after becoming President of the United States.

In the wake of the obscenity of a trial of terrorists in federal court for an act of war— and the worldwide propaganda platform it will give them— it may seem to be a small thing that President Obama has been photographed yet again bowing deeply to a foreign ruler. But how large or small an act is depends on its actual consequences, not on whether the politically correct intelligentsia think it is no big deal.

As a private citizen, Barack Obama has a right to make as big a jackass of himself as he wants to. But, as President of the United States, his actions not only denigrate a nation that other nations rely on for survival, but raise questions about how reliable our judgment and resolve are — which in turn raises questions about whether those nations will consider themselves better off to make the best deal they can with our enemies.

Wow! Home owners take note & tell your friends and relatives who are home owners!!! Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act.

H.R. 2454, the "Cap & Trade" bill passed by the House of Representatives, if also passed by the Senate, will be the largest tax increase any of us has ever experienced. The Congressional Budget Office (supposedly non-partisan) estimates that in just a few years the average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one is excluded. However, once the lower classes feel the pinch in their wallets, you can be sure these voters get a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost. Thus, you Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class America will have to pay even more since additional tax dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else.

But wait. This awful bill (that no one in Congress has actually read) has many more surprises in it.

Probably the worst one is this: A year from now you won't be able to sell your house.

Yes, you read that right. The caveat is (there always is a caveat) that if you have enough money to make required major upgrades to your home, then you can sell it. But, if not, then forget it. Even pre-fabricated homes ("mobile homes") are included.

In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator.

To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured. Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be forced to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements. Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a "label" in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner If you don't get a high enough rating, you can't sell. And, the EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act.

The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap & Trade program (AKA the "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009") and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations and standards he alone determines to be in the government's best interest. Requirements are set low initially so the bill will pass Congress; then the Administrator can set much tougher new standards every year. The Act itself contains annual required increases in energy efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings. However, the EPA administrator can set higher standards at any time.

Sect. 202:
Building Retrofit Program mandates a national retrofit program to increase the energy efficiency of all existing homes across America .

Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act. You had better sell soon, because the standards will be raised each year and will be really hard (i.e., ex$pen$ive) to meet in a few years. Oh, goody! The Act allows the government to give you a grant of several thousand dollars to comply with the retrofit program requirements if you meet certain energy efficiency levels. But, wait, the State can set additional requirements on who qualifies to receive the grants. You should expect requirements such as "can't have an income of more than $50K per year", "home selling price can't be more than $125K", or anything else to target the upper middle class (and that's YOU) and prevent them from qualifying for the grants Most of us won't get a dime and will have to pay the entire cost of the retrofit out of our own pockets. More transfer of wealth, more "change you can believe in."

Sect. 204:Building Energy Performance Labeling Program establishes a labeling program that for each individual residence will identify the achieved energy efficiency performance for "at least 90 percent of the residential market within 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act." This means that within five years, 90% of all residential homes in the U.S. must be measured and labeled. The EPA administrator will get $50M each year to enforce the labeling program. The Secretary of the Department of Energy will get an additional $20M each year to help enforce the labeling program. Some of this money will, of course, be spent on coming up with tougher standards each year. Oh, the label will be like a license for your car. You will be required to post the label in a conspicuous location in your home and will not be allowed to sell your home without having this label. And, just like your car license, you will probably be required to get a new label every so often - maybe every year. But, the government estimates the cost of measuring the energy efficiency of your home should only cost about $200 each time. Remember what they said about the auto smog inspections when they first started: that in California it would only cost $15. That was when the program started. Now the cost is about $50 for the inspection and certificate; a 333% increase. Expect the same from the home labeling program.

Sect. 304:Greater Energy Efficiency in Building Codes establishes new energy efficiency guidelines for the National Building Code and mandates at 304(d) that 1 year after enactment of this Act, all state and local jurisdictions must adopt the National Building Code energy efficiency provisions or must obtain a certification from the federal government that their state and/or local codes have been brought into full compliance with the National Building Code energy efficiency standards.

Republicans Win in NJ and Virginia!

Regardless of how the liberal press and others try to spin and downplay these races, this is huge! All three states went for Obama in the 2008 election--by big margins. Two of the three now go to Republicans--also by big margins. And, even though it looks like Hoffman may lose in his bid in NY, to finish as close as he apparently will poses big problems for Democrats (ignore comments to the contrary by liberal spin-masters).

How this will play out going forward…especially with the midterm elections in 2010 looming, is anybody's guess. My gut feeling is that Democrats have a lot to fear. One little-noticed fact helps support this: Turnout of Republican and Independent voters is up--substantially. That's telling!

Hoffman's performance in NY…effectively ousting the "Republican" candidate has been noticed by the Republican leadership. Will they "get the message" and stop nominating liberals and moderates…masquerading as conservatives? Time will tell, but one thing is certain. The Conservatives within the Republican Party are now engaged, fully awake, and aware of their inherent power. The Republican Party leadership had better take notice. They are being watched.

What Now?!

I sense a complete paradigm shift not only in the way the average American views politics in general, but also in the way they view politicians. I, for one, used to view our "leaders" in Washington as being fairly bright men and women who were generally fair and honest and loved their country. No more! We have BHO, this Congress, and the ultra-liberal left to thank for that.

Ultimately, this will result in a better America because it will force many who have been passively living their lives--oblivious to the carnage being foisted on them--to get involved...to revisit our founding documents and re-learn the circumstances of our beginnings.

Only then can we truly appreciate the dangers lurking within the halls of Congress itself, that threaten our freedoms and our very way of life. These dangers have been likened to a "cancer" that must be completely removed. And I say, "let the operation begin"!

However, to completely "heal" our nation, our efforts to remove the cancer cannot be restricted to national-level candidates. What good will that do if we ignore the cancer that remains in the "pipeline" feeding higher level politics?

No, we need a strategy that attacks the problem at all levels.

This recent march on Washington has really encouraged me. It shows the depth of concern in our nation about where we are headed. Americans have come to love freedom and the Constitution that guarantees it and simply will not sit idly by while it is systematically destroyed by a government composed of individuals who have taken an oath to "...uphold, protect, and defend" it! The will of the American people to fight this has been seriously underestimated.

I'm pumped and cannot wait to continue the struggle. BHO, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, "Borney Fwank", and the entire liberal left...BRING IT!

Court Orders Christian Child Into Government Education: 10-year-old's 'vigorous' defense of her faith condemned by judge

A 10-year-old homeschool girl described as "well liked, social and interactive with her peers, academically promising and intellectually at or superior to grade level" has been told by a New Hampshire court official to attend a government school because she was too "vigorous" in defense of her Christian faith.

The decision from Marital Master Michael Garner reasoned that the girl's "vigorous defense of her religious beliefs to [her] counselor suggests strongly that she has not had the opportunity to seriously consider any other point of view."

The recommendation was approved by Judge Lucinda V. Sadler, but it is being challenged by attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund, who said it was "a step too far" for any court. The ADF confirmed today it has filed motions with the court seeking reconsideration of the order and a stay of the decision sending the 10-year-old student in government-run schools in Meredith, N.H.

The dispute arose as part of a modification of a parenting plan for the girl. The parents divorced in 1999 when she was a newborn, and the mother has homeschooled her daughter since first grade with texts that meet all state standards. In addition to homeschooling, the girl attends supplemental public school classes and has also been involved in a variety of extra-curricular sports activities, the ADF reported.

But during the process of negotiating the terms of the plan, a guardian ad litem appointed to participate concluded the girl "appeared to reflect her mother's rigidity on questions of faith" and that the girl's interests "would be best served by exposure to a public school setting" and "different points of view at a time when she must begin to critically evaluate multiple systems of belief ... in order to select, as a young adult, which of those systems will best suit her own needs."
According to court documents, the guardian ad litem earlier had told the mother, "If I want her in public school, she'll be in public school."

The marital master hearing the case proposed the Christian girl be ordered into public school after considering "the impact of [her religious] beliefs on her interaction with others."

"Parents have a fundamental right to make educational choices for their children. In this case specifically, the court is illegitimately altering a method of education that the court itself admits is working," said ADF-allied attorney John Anthony Simmons of Hampton.

"The court is essentially saying that the evidence shows that, socially and academically, this girl is doing great, but her religious beliefs are a bit too sincerely held and must be sifted, tested by, and mixed among other worldviews. This is a step too far for any court to take."

"The New Hampshire Supreme Court itself has specifically declared, 'Home education is an enduring American tradition and right,'" said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Mike Johnson. "There is clearly and without question no legitimate legal basis for the court's decision, and we trust it will reconsider its conclusions."

The case, handled in the Family Division of the Judicial Court for Belknap County in Laconia, involves Martin Kurowski and Brenda Kurowski (Voydatch), and their daughter.

The ADF also argued that the issue already was raised in 2006 and rejected by the court. "Most urgent … is the issue of Amanda's schooling as the school year has begun and Amanda is being impacted by the court's decision daily," the court filing requesting a stay said. "Serious state statutory and federal constitutional concerns are implicated by the court's ruling and which need to be remedied without delay.

"It is not the proper role of the court to insist that Amanda be 'exposed to different points of view' if the primary residential parent has determined that it is in Amanda's best interest not to be exposed to secular influences that would undermine Amanda's faith, schooling, social development, etc. The court is not permitted to demonstrate hostility toward religion, and particularly the faith of Amanda and Mother, by removing Amanda from the home and thrusting her into an environment that the custodial parent deems detrimental to Amanda."

"The order assumes that because Amanda has sincerely held Christian beliefs, there must be a problem that needs solving. It is a parent's constitutionally protected right to train up their children in the religious beliefs that they hold. It is not up to the court to suggest that a 10-year-old should be 'exposed' to other religious views contrary to the faith traditions of her parents. Could it not be that this sharp 10-year-old 'vigorously' believes what she does because she knows it to be true? The court's narrative suggests that 10-year-olds are too young to form opinions and that they are not yet allowed to have sincerely held Christian beliefs," the ADF said.

"Absent any other clear and convincing evidence justifying the court's decision, it would appear that the court has indeed taken sides with regard to the issue of religion and has preferred one religious view over another (or the absence of religion). This is impermissible," the documents said.

The guardian ad litem had an anti-Christian bias, the documents said, telling the mother at one point she wouldn't even look at homeschool curriculum. "I don't want to hear it. It's all Christian based," she said.

In my opinion, this is another example of the insidious assault on Christian values and the fundamental right to freedom of religious practice guaranteed by the US Constitution. The outrageous, shameful actions by this leftist, activist judge should not go unchallenged. Parents everywhere should exercise another right they possess (at least for now) and speak out against this insanity! In addition, the "guardian ad litem" in this case should be sued for civil rights violations.

We are witnessing something really disturbing in America. Our Congressional members -- coming home to enjoy their taxpayer funded recess -- are facing angry constituents at town meetings. These people -- most of whom are voicing concerns we all feel about the economy and what the Democrats are doing to it -- want the congress to rein itself in. But instead of listening and understanding the constituents’ concerns, some congressmen and the Obama White House are condemning the voters and saying that they’re just shills for Republican groups.

On Wednesday Congressman Ron Klein -- whom I will oppose in 2010 -- and his staff invited constituents to a townhall forum on healthcare issues forum in Lighthouse Point Florida. An email from his office stated that constituents could present Congressman Klein with their questions on healthcare. Some 200 people showed up, but Klein didn’t. What was he afraid of?

What is of concern is not the reaction of concerned American citizens but rather the response from the liberal media and the DNC. It seems they are resorting to their normal Saul Alinsky “Rules for Radicals” tactics; Rule #5, Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.The Democrats are again lowering themselves to calling Americans a mob and trying to depict concerned Americans as sore losers.

We have a Constitution which affords its citizens rights such as free speech, freedom of expression, and freedom to petition the government.What they fail to realize is that in America we live in a Republic where we respect rule of law, not being ruled. It is amazing to me that when the opposition to President Obama’s very socialist policies expresses their dissent they are castigated as “tea baggin’ rednecks”, racists, or dumb. What the liberal socialists had best recognize is that their venom is no longer effective, we are anesthetized to their bite. Seems we found anti-venom and we all have been injected to produce anti-bodies. As well, the DNC is running insidious advertisements and the White House has launched its “Great American Snitch” program at flag@whitehouse.com. It’s almost comical that the same folks who brought you the professional community organizer president are attacking citizens organizing.

We have seen anti-war protests by Code Pink, PETA tossing blood on individuals, enviro-terrorist groups attacking SUV dealerships, ACORN and SEIU protests, and even voter intimidation at polling stations. Yet, concerned American citizens are called extremists.President George W Bush was constantly attacked from his inauguration in Jan 2001 to the day he departed office Jan 20, 2009. (And some still criticize him if they can’t think of anything else to say or write.) But dare you speak of the anointed one and you are a racist.

Left wing blogs attack Governor Sarah Palin and made allegations that her young Son Trig is not hers. Left wing news media attacked former First Lady Laura Bush reference a traffic accident when she was a teenager. No one is questioning the law license inactive status of First Lady Michele Obama. And what is up with twenty-two staffers for the First Lady Michele?The Bush twins were regularly part of media attacks, dare no one speak of the Obama daughters who attend wonderful -- and very expensive -- Sidwell Friends private school. A school that is not available to other children in DC, who are just as qualified but whose families are less fortunate and unable to pay for them to attend.

What is happening is that some of us read the book “Rules for Radicals” and we are turning the table on the liberals. Here are some examples;Rule 1: “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have”Rule 3: “Wherever possible go outside of the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat”Rule 4: “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this……”Rule 8: “Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions……”Rule 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself”Rule 11: “If you push a negative hard enough and deep enough it will break through into its counterside”Rule 13: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”.

It seems to me that the liberals are great at dishing it out but intolerant of taking a punch. I will say what may not be politically correct but the future and legacy of our Country is at stake. Get out there and go to the townhalls. Tell your congressman and senators -- respectfully but firmly -- that you will work hard to defeat them next year if they continue on the liberal path of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

As a 22 year US Army combat veteran I can tell you when I smell fear, and the left wing liberal socialists are stinking up the place. My admonition is to be like a shark which senses blood in the water and attack. They truly felt that since they won, we would lie down and not fight back against their dangerous agenda. They are wrong, and August is the month to prove that fact all over our great land.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America ..

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America 's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK 's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.
